Pete Nicas - Biography


After working 25 years in the newspaper industry and entering the business sector, Pete Nicas started receiving requests to take on editing projects and provide a service. So, Ready To Be Published was launched, fulfulling the high demand for professional editing and proofreading from college students, writers, websites and businesses.


Pete has a combined 32 years of experience in journalism and business in five states.


His long newspaper career -- including nearly six years at the nationally-recognized St. Petersburg Times (Fl.) -- consisted of writing, editing, page design and photography and stints in news, sports, business and features. He was an award-winning sportswriter. His editing/design work received special recognition in critiques in three states. With the Roanoke Times (Va.), Nicas edited a book on Virginia Tech's 1999 Sugar Bowl football season. And at the St. Pete paper, he was a copy editor for a perennial top-10 sports section in the nation.


In 2005, Pete and his wife -- Terri, a longtime special education teacher -- became financial services entrepreneurs. They have enjoyed educating clients and training/developing new representatives, as well as public relations/marketing work and public speaking.
